Architectonic Assignment

This building nicknamed 'The Dancing House' was co-designed by Vlado Milunic and Canadian architect Frank Gehry. Gehry's designs can best be described as "avant garde" as his unique signature style has developed from interesting incorporations of metallic elements and a sculptural approach to Architecture.

Gehry's play with illusion results in innovative linear designs that seem to challenge previous assumptions of geometry and proportion within architecture. For this reason, his buildings present a great contrast to typical modern urban architecture, resembling sculptural forms of art rather than buildings, and this is especially evident in the contrast between 'The Dancing House' and the surrounding historic Art Nouveau architecture.
