I have experimented with a number of ideas for possible logos, but one the idea I felt had the most potential was working with repetitions of circles and lines to create geometric patterns. At first, I tried to rotate and manipulate the shapes so that they could be curved in the shape of an S and C, however the results obtained were not quite refined enough to become a possible logotype. Taking a simpler version of this idea, I created a circle by rotating various circular shapes together, and feel this would reflect the concept of ‘SC Media’ well as it plays on optical illusions and intricate line work, thus reflecting the creative and unconventional aspect to the brand, yet at the same time, aspects such as the continuity of the circles and the initial use of simple shapes convey reliability and stability.
Other ideas that were roughly explored were the use of signature style logos, as these are extremely common amongst photographers, and in this way, I was trying to use a style that was already synonymous with the photography industry to again promote a sense of familiarity and awareness amongst potential clients and customers within the industry. Finally, simple line work playing with the curves of the S and the C were experimented with (the purple and yellow logo) for a minimalist logo that would probably speak to a more artistically-minded client.
